Gerardo LeChevallier, NDI's former director of Latin America and Caribbean programs and country director for Bosnia, Haiti and Paraguay, was among those who perished during Haiti’s January 12 earthquake when the United Nations headquarters building collapsed in Port-au-Prince. LeChevallier was serving as the head of the political affairs and elections units within the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti.

We will gather with his many friends to pay tribute to this dedicated, courageous advocate for democracy.
